Ruth Brown Allsbrook, 84, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

Ruth was born in Hobgood, NC on February 15, 1933 to the late George Ashley and Malissa Davis Brown.  A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ruth enjoyed traveling and cooking.  Her greatest joy came from being with her family and doting on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Hearn Allsbrook, Jr.; her brothers, Robert Brown, Carl Brown, and Henry Brown; and her sisters, Nellie Chadwick and Ruby Harrell.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tammy Jo Albritton and husband Joe of Burke, VA, Tina Dry and husband Michael of Richmond, VA, and Toni Smith and husband Jeff of Severn, MD; her three grandchildren, Kristi Marr Hahn, Dylan Smith, and Brooke Smith; and her two great-grandchildren, Bella Patterson and Sofia Patterson.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck.  The Reverend Doctor James Drake will be presiding.

The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
