SCOTLAND NECK, NC- Mrs. Myra Jane Butler Branch, age 70, of Scotland Neck, passed away on April 17, 2016 at her home in Scotland Neck, NC

Mrs. Branch was born in Scotland Neck, NC on July 23, 1945, a daughter of the late Joe R. and Rosebel Basden Butler.  Jane was an active member of Scotland Neck First Baptist Church and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Enfield Chapter.  She worked in retail sales for most of her career.

Jane was a loving person, having never met a stranger. She loved to shop, going to the beach, playing cards, and most of all, she loved her family.  She was a special “Nana” to her grandchildren, which was evident in her vehicle license plate “NANA 5X”.  Her personality was best described in a condolence sent to the family, “she had a positive spirit, easily made friends, and encouraged others”.

Besides her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a brother, David Lee Butler.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, whom she married on January 23, 1966, and was a loving wife to for over 50 years, Kenneth H. Branch, a daughter, Myra Rossen and husband, Kirk of Keedysville, MD; a son, Michael R. Branch and wife Doris of Jefferson, MD; five grandchildren; Amanda Jane Rossen, Tyler Rossen, Jessica Rose Branch, Kyle Rossen, and Jayden Branch all of Maryland. Also surviving, Ronnie Dickens, who was raised like a son, and wife Angi, their children; Bryce and Abby, all of Sharpsburg, MD, and a brother, Joseph Butler and wife, Alice of Hampton, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm, prior to services, at Scotland Neck First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, Scotland Neck, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Scotland Neck First Baptist Church, with Dr. Allen Cherry and Dr. James Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Scotland Neck, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scotland Neck First Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1015 Church Street, Scotland Neck, NC 27874.

Ken, and the Branch family,’
Pat and I offer our most heartfelt condolences on the loss of your wife Jane. As a great memory, Jane was a master at making and decorating cakes. She really put her heart into the project.
She was always the most wonderful baker and decorator we ever had at the USAMMA, and the cakes with decoration tha she made with so much care were always highly regarded by us.
There are some at the Agency that would like to write to you personally, so if you could, please write back to us at : 2rickwolfe@gmail.com. We will forward your address.

To Kenny and the entire Branch family we extend our deepest condolence. Our memories of Myra are happy with her outgoing and easy to talk to attitude toward everyone. She loved to tell stories of when her grandchildren were little and how proud she was of their achievements . She will be greatly missed but our fine memories will continue. God bless.
