Kesler Askew Jr. age 86 of Enfield, died peacefully at his home on Friday, February 12, 2016.
He was born on May 31, 1929 to the late Kesler and Thelma Askew of Enfield, NC. Kesler was married to Ramona Nichols on July 25, 1959 and to this marriage was born three children. He served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He attended Mars Hill College, NC State University and UNC of Chapel Hill, NC. Mr. Askew was a fireman and member of the Masonic Lodge in Enfield. He was a member of the Enfield Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and RA leader. Kesler owned and operated Enfield Insurance Agency for some thirty-years. He sold the business and later retired from BB&T.
Kesler is survived by his wife Ramona of the home, son, Benjamin Saxon Askew and his wife Kimberly of Enfield, NC, daughter, Kathryn Helen Askew of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and son, William Thomas Askew and his wife Donna of Winterville, NC, granddaughter, Magan Derring Coats of Kill Devil Hills, NC, grandson, Carter Thomas Askew of Winterville, NC, two great-granddaughters, Nevaeh Shaiy Tucker of Kill Devil Hills, NC, and Saxon Norrell Heuneman of Kill Devil Hills, NC.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 1:00-1:45 pm at Enfield Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm, following the visitation, at the Enfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Kerry Peeler officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Enfield Baptist Church, 200 West Burnette Ave, Enfield, NC 27823.

Dear Ramona…I am so sorry to read about Mr. Kes. I was always so fond of him while growing up. Remember spending many an evening in your home, as Kes worked with RA’s, and you with GA’s. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear of Kesler’s passing. He was such a gentleman and always so very nice to me, and my family. He set an example for how we all should treat each other. My prayers for the family is that God shows His grace and mercy in this difficult time.
