Dear Judy and Family,
My prayers are with you all as you mourn the loss of your Dad and husband. Your dad and mom were very speical to me as a first year teacher at Murfreesboro High School in 1973; they adopted me as their own and I will never forget their kindness . I loved your parents and the love they modeled for their their three girls-Robin, Laura and Sally. Herman made a difference in my life as I know he did for so many others. He was a wonderful human being.
Prayers for you all. I remember when you lived in Scotland Neck on Church Street and yall had a nice garden. Took dance from Mrs. Clark and went to school with Robin. Mr. Clark was a very nice man. So sorry for your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in your time of loss. I wish I could have been at the memorial service today but I had a previous work commitment that could not be rescheduled. “Coach Clark” certainly was one of the adults that had a significant influence on my time in high school, from learning to push myself when I did not think I could something, to working with my teammates to accomplish goals, and to be play fair and enjoying winning but learn from losing too. May all the wonderful memories and good times brighten your days ahead.
Mrs. Clark and family… I remember all the good times we had playing for Coach Clark and re-building the program at Scotland Neck HS… He was the first coach to make me want to enter the profession… prayers are with your family.. Lee Davis – Scotland Neck HS – Class of 1967
Miss Judy, Girls, & Family,
Was sooo sorry to hear of your loss. It is a great loos for so many at each of the places that you served. I was blessed to cross paths with Coach at his last stop just before retirement. As you well know we spent quite a bit of time together during the falls for my four years of High School. And then there were those Friday nights. I can honestly say I have always had an awesome amount of respect for Coach. And that I am a much better person from listening and observing during the
times we had together, much less the education I received about that game we both loved and cherished so much. It’s probably best that at the time I was at MHS I didn’t know that he had already served in the Military, or that he was an All-American. I would have been more in awe of him than I already was. May God see you through this difficult time. We share your loss.
Please know prayers are with all of you from your Florence family. Although we did not know him well, we have certainly been blessed by his family. Although there is sadness,
there is joy in the absolute legacy that will remain forever. Love Renee and Neal Kennedy
So sorry to hear of passing of coach Clark. He was a special man. I will never forget the time I played powder puff football, I intercepted the football and ran the wrong way (lol) Mr. Clark said in our next huddle Becky we are going this way!!!! Class of 1969.
Judy, Coach Clark was the only man I ever knew that if he said “I want you to run into that brick wall full speed” you would do it. He definitely made an impression on all of us who played for him. Bless you and the Family. Jeff Dickens, Scotland Neck High School Fighting Scots, Class of ‘ 69.
To Judy, Robin, Laura, Sally, and all of the Clark family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You are a very special family in my memories of the years I lived in Murfreesboro. Love to you all.
To Judy, Robin, Laura, Sally, and all family members,
My prayers are with you all on your loss. I remember many fun times with Herman and the Clarks after our Friday night MHS football games and our post-game “coaching” sessions. He will always be remembered by all the players he coached and his assistant coaches.
