Eula Mae Ayers Peace, age 87, of Enfield, NC died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 30, 2017.

She was born in Hassell, NC, on September 26, 1930 to the late Mills and Susie Ayers. Eula Mae was married to the late Henry L. Peace for forty-five years. She is survived by her two sons, Butch and Tony Peace of Enfield, NC and her granddog, Rico Volz Peace.

She was a lifelong member of the Enfield Baptist Church. Eula Mae worked at Enfield Oil Company and retired thirty-nine years later from the same company now known as Eastern Petroleum. She was an avid reader, loved to take her six-mile walks, but her favorite past time was gardening or “digging in the dirt” as her sons so fondly referred. Eula Mae was a loving wife and mother and she will be truly missed by those who knew her.

Other than her mother, father, and her husband, Eula Mae is preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert V. and John L. House.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 1:00-1:45PM at Enfield Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00PM at the church with a burial at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield, NC. Rev. Kerry Peeler will be officiating the service.
Flowers are welcome but memorial contributions may be made directly to Enfield Baptist Church, 200 West Burnette Avenue, Enfield, NC 27823 or online by clicking here

My heartfelt condolences are with the family. I got to know Ms. Peace when she worked at Eastern Petroleum back in 1988. She was a wonderful lady.

Tony and Butch, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom and my special sister. She will be missed by so many as she was a very loving and caring person, unless she was washing mine and Dean’s ears when she would help with our Saturday night bath. Loved her so much and will miss her so very much.
