Miss Barbara was always there for my family and me as we were growing up next door. She was always quick to share a laugh or pancake, and focused on the positive qualities in all of us. I’m grateful for the entire Jernigan family and their friendship. God bless. With sincere sympathy, Chelsea Ellen Blake

To Mr. Joe and the entire Jernigan family, I am so sorry for your loss. I cherish all of the fond memories shared with you and Ms. Barbara…ie serving in the Ruritan Club when I was with the Aulander PD… and when we picked you two up and listened to ole time music on the way to celebrate mom and dad’s 60th anniversary on the Spirit of Norfolk. I always enjoyed hearing the stories about y’all double dating “back in the day”. She was such a special lady and servant of the Lord. God bless you all and remember that we all shall meet again one glorious day!!

John, and family, we are very sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. We pray God’s peace upon your hearts knowing she is with the Father now and perfectly fine with no physical veil between her and Jesus. We know the temporary separation will be tough as you will miss her but her memory will live on in and through you until that time when you see her again. Grace and Peace during this time we pray. Amen.
